RedCrab SonoG can be used to generate sounds at various frequencies. Its purpose is to help you test specialized audio equipment. The software places two tone generators at your disposal, each of which can be configured in various ways. You can generate several types of wave forms, like sine, square, pulse, or sawtooth and you can choose how to emit the tones.

The software is offered completely free of charge and it can be used on any popular Windows version. Downloading its setup package and installing its core components is a simple procedure, which shouldn't take more than a minute to complete. Also, you don't have to install any prerequisite tools or services.

The user interface has a technical look, but its controls shouldn't prove to be difficult to master. It consists of two identical panels, on which you can set up a tone and play it. You can increase or decrease the frequency by turning two knobs or by typing in a specific value. When you are ready, you only need to flick an on/off switch. Just make sure you don't have any headphones on and the volume isn't too loud.

It is also possible to select a wave form, like sin, square, pulse and so on. What's more, the application supports certain modes, like tone burst, modulation, sweep and DTMF pulse. Additionally, you can choose to play the tone on the right or left channel or on both.

As previously mentioned, the software provides you with two identical tone generators. They work the same way and you can use them both at the same time, so there are various options to explore.

Generating the exact tone you need can't get any easier when using RedCrab SonoG.

Pros

You can define the tone you want with a good degree of accuracy. The software lets you generate various wave forms. It provides you with two tone generators, which are quite easy to use.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to address.
